International Students

Each year, approximately 120 exchange students come to Hochschule Konstanz to study for one or two semesters. The advantage of these programs is the procedure of admission is simplified, the courses and exams taken at HTWG are acknowledged by the home university, and reserved dorm rooms in Konstanz are available for incoming exchange students.

If you are a student of one of our international partner universities and are interested in an exchange program in Konstanz, please consult the International Office of your home university.

In order to apply to HTWG as an exchange student you must submit the following documents to the International Office of your home university:

• International Exchange Student Registration Form
• Student residence hall application
• Curriculum Vitae (CV) / resume
• Academic transcript and list of current coursework
• Letter of interest
• 2 passport pictures
• Copy of (full) passport; Please note: Your passport must be valid until 6 months after the end of your exchange period at HTWG Konstanz. At the beginning of the exchange semester in Konstanz you must be at least 18 years old. In case of dual citizenship, please send us copies of both passports.
• German language certificate (indicating the student’s German language level) if necessary for the study abroad period
• Financial documents / proof of financial support for the whole academic period at HTWG (if you stay for one year: proof for at least one semester; minimum: € 670 per month) which can either be:

      - current bank statement of parent and copy of Parental Statement
      - or statement of full grant from the sponsor of your academic program in Konstanz
