Constance

The Constance Academy of Business Ethics takes place in Konstanz, the largest city at Lake Constance. Konstanz looks back on a 2000 year old history and a number of important historical events (e.g. the Council of Constance, 1414-1418). Today, with a population of more than 80,000, it is the largest town at Lake Constance and the cultural centre of the region. Both its university and the University of Applied Sciences have an excellent reputation and make Constance a lively and dynamic town that offers a wide range of leisure activities for visitors of all ages. On a tour through the historical Old Town of Constance, which has remained almost unchanged since the Middle Ages, you can discover its history really coming to life.

Major characteristics of the town are its broad range in culture (e.g. the theatre, many museums, the Philharmonic Orchestra), the historical city centre of the former diocese, the large number of pubs, bars and wine taverns as well as its unique location amidst the wonderful Lake Constance landscape (for further information visit www.konstanz.de).

The Konstanz University of Applied Sciences is situated just at the shore of the River Rhine and close to the city centre. This offers the chance to combine your intensive studies at the campus with numerous possibilities for leisure activities and relaxation.

The Konstanz University of Applied Sciences was founded 100 years ago as a private establishment. In 1991 the range of study branches was expanded by business studies. This course gained an excellent reputation within short time - a fact that is expressed in its brilliant rating among university rankings. One major characteristic of the Constance business studies is their early and intensive dealing with business ethics. In Constance, Germany's first professorship for business ethics was established at an University of Applied Sciences, and Prof. Dr. habil. Josef Wieland was appointed to it. In his Konstanz Institut für WerteManagement - KIeM (Constance Institute for ValuesManagement) there is done substantial theoretical and applied research on this field of science.
