Konstanzer Rundgespräche
Once a year the KIeM organizes the "Konstanzer Rundgespräche" (Constance Round Table), an interdisciplinary conference with the objective to discuss and develop business ethics issues based on the research program on governance ethics developed by Prof. Dr. habil. Josef Wieland.
The interdisciplinary discussion is especially important, because ethics are a phenomenon that can be located in the entire society and which cannot be discussed exclusively in the fields of the economic system or philosophy. It It becomes subsequently clearer that it is not the discourse of reason but the context of applicability are those dimensions that contemporary ethics can be developed from. Thus, it is necessary to integrate those research disciplines that highlight ethics from a broad and interdisciplinary perspective for economy and business ethics issues.
The theory of governance ethics is the focal point for these discussions, because its theoretical design is interdisciplinary in itself (central: New institutional economics and organizational theory, new sociological systems theory, philosophical contracts theory).
A series of publications, the "Reihe Governanceethik" (Governance Ethics Series) documents the conferences' results.
