Within the last years, the Corporate Governance discussion became more and more explosive and the topic became more and more important. Today, it is of central and integral meaning for the management of an organization. This is valid for both on national and international level. Within the discussion, the term Corporate Governance is not only to be understood in the traditional, narrow view of control function, monitoring, legal compliance, risk management, anti-fraud management etc. But rather it is a matter of the extended term of Corporate Governance, which encompasses the leadership, management and controlling of an organization in the sense of a responsible management as it is also claimed by the German Corporate Governance Code (GCGC). Thereby, also responsibility is to be understood in all its facets - economic, legal, social. The decisive requirement of a Good Corporate Governance is the successful simultaneity of these three dimensions.
The research of the Institute with its relevance and orientation corresponds to this comprehensive understanding of Corporate Governance. Interdisciplinarity - Economics, Law, Organizational Theory, Management, Business Ethics - is a basic aspect of our research activities.
