International Management Asia-Europe

The International Management Asia-Europe program, emphasizing the issues of complexity and risk, can be completed in three semesters - or add a fourth one and obtain an optional double degree.

    Application Deadlines

The application deadline for the MIM program is June 1st. The program always starts in the winter semester. Please note: We must receive all of your application documents by this date.
Candidates will be invited to an interview that will take place at the HTWG Konstanz - University of Applied Sciences in mid-June. Students will be admitted by middle/end of July. Classes start at the beginning of October.

    Formal Requirements

In order to be admitted to the MIM master’s program, students need to meet the following requirements: a completed three or four-year undergraduate university degree, a minimum grade point average of 2.5 (grades in the German system range from 1.0 (highest) to 5.0), documented advanced-level English skills (at least B2 in the GER system) and the departmental interview.

    Personal Requirements

We are looking for applicants who value a productive, internationally-oriented working environment, and who are interested in business, legal and regional studies related to Asia. We seek students who are eager to learn, flexible, committed, and can manage the workload in a compact and intensive degree program. We require not only advanced-level English skills, but also advanced communicative competence and the ability to reflect on intercultural interaction situations.

    Conditional Admission

The 3-semester master’s program in International Management Asia-Europe is based on a workload of 90 ECTS points and requires a previous university degree with at least 210 ECTS points.

Applicants with a 6-semester bachelor’s degree containing 180 ECTS points may be admitted conditionally. Such students are required to complete the missing 30 ECTS points before finishing the master’s program. Thus, by the end of their master’s studies, they would need to have a total of 300 ECTS points. Due to the high workload in the program, it is normally not possible to complete these extra ECTS points during the 3 semester period (A, B and C semesters). For this reason, we offer a preparatory semester, where students can make up the missing points before starting the program. Keep in mind that the MIM program always starts in the winter semester. If students complete the preparatory semester in the winter semester, they may start their master’s studies the following semester, but would follow a different program sequence: B semester, A semester, followed by the C semester.

Students who are admitted conditionally need to complete courses in the Asian Studies and Management bachelor’s program. These required courses are set up individually with an advisor. We take your previously completed coursework into consideration when setting up your study plan.

    Credits and Transfer of Credits

In addition to the courses students and their advisor select to complete the required ECTS points, credits may also be transferred from previously attended universities. Form for transferring credits
