LAKE CONSTANCE CENTER FOR INNOVATION 4.0

Digital transformation is an issue that will affect almost all businesses in the future. Research institutes and large companies manage the transition with new technological solutions and new business models. For mid-sized companies however, the new technologies and associated new value creation possibilities frequently cause uncertainty. Two questions arise in this context:

How much digitalization do mid-sized companies really need?

Competitiveness and innovativeness require strong collaboration with partners. In the future, this collaboration will be based on new business models and more intensive data exchange in many industries, which will have an impact on a number of business areas.

How much digitalization is actually suitable for mid-sized companies?

Mid-sized companies specifically require technological solutions that can be integrated into existing systems. Yet, even with these existing structures, new technologies often entail a large-scale continuing education program. Digitalization in mid-sized companies thus requires a lot of sensitivity.

The Lake Constance Center for Innovation 4.0 (BZI 4.0) was founded at the HTWG Konstanz - University of Applied Sciences Konstanz in close collaboration with the International Lake Constance Conference (IBK) and the State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg.
