The HTWG student card (ZACK card) serves also as library card for students and can be used for loans immediately upon receipt. A seperate registration is not necessary.
The HTWG Konstanz Library is responsible for all questions concerning the supply of literature to the HTWG. In addition to university members, all external users are welcome also
The HTWG Library is housed in the historic building of the former Konstanz slaughterhouse and is located directly at the Rhine river.
It has received several awards and is the largest technically oriented library in the Lake Constance region.
The library holdings consist of 200.000 books in total, thereof 70.000 print books and 130.000 eBooks. The collection include the fields of technology, economics, construction, architecture, and design.
In addition, journals, specialist databases and numerous other services are available.

The library is available for all members of the HTWG Konstanz and to all external interested parties (minimum age: sixten years old).
Visiting and using the library during opening hours is possible at any time without further formalities. A reading pass with a library account is required for lending, research, and use of online media.
- Teacher or Staff member
For professors, lecturers and staff members, the staff member card serves also as library card. In order to use this card, you must register once with the library service (Mon–Fri 9 am – 7 pm).
For external interested parties we will gladly issue a library card personally on site (Mon – Fri 9 am – 7 pm)
– valid German identity card or passport / foreign identity card, combined with official proof of current residence
– Underage readers: consent and signature of a parent or guardian (see registration form)
– completed resgistration form
