    Overview Automotive Information Technology (AIT)

Engine control, advanced driver assistance systems, Car-to-X communication, comfort and media applications, networked mobility – over 90 percent of all innovations in the automotive sector are driven by electrical engineering and information technology. Modern vehicles are data centres on wheels, car manufacturers become IT companies.

The degree program AIT addresses the chances and challenges arising from this transformation. It is an interdisciplinary collaboration between the department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and the department of Computer Science. Graduates are thus excellently prepared for the future topics of the automotive industry - as well as for other fields of application with similar challenges.

Studying in English at the HTWG

The degree program AIT requires German language skills since most courses are taught in German. However, at least one course per semester is taught in English. In addition, it is possible to complete both a bachelor thesis and projects in English. Therefore, there are possibilities and options for exchange students to participate, see our international office for further information.
