    International Management Asia-Europe

    Our fully English-taught, three-semester program—or four semesters with the optional double-degree track—develops advanced knowledge and analytical skills for business at the Asia–Europe interface. With a focus on the complexity and risks of international business, the interdisciplinary curriculum covers economic, political, legal, and cultural dimensions, preparing graduates for leadership roles in internationally operating organizations.

    Creating a Successful Learning Experience

    To help students succeed in the Asian Studies programmes, we have identified a number of key principles that support effective learning. We place particular emphasis on the following three elements of a positive teaching and learning culture:

    Openness to New Knowledge
    Students take responsibility for their academic, professional, and personal development. They actively embrace the opportunities and academic freedom offered by the University. Faculty members support this process through engaging teaching formats, project-based learning, and inspiring learning environments.

    Making Use of Academic Support
    Students are encouraged to take advantage of individual academic advising and support services. Faculty members offer regular office hours at least once a week, as well as additional appointments and individual coaching whenever needed.

    Seeing the Value of Collaboration and Networking
    Students actively contribute to the success of the programme and regard themselves as co-creators of an excellent academic learning experience. They attend required and elective courses regularly, prepare for and reflect on their classes, build academic and professional networks, and collaborate in a spirit of trust and mutual respect within teams and interactive learning settings.

    Responsibilities and Expectation

    Taking Responsibility for Your Studies
    Students are expected to work efficiently and independently by managing their time, workload, and personal well-being in a responsible and professional manner. They attend classes punctually, actively seek relevant information, read university regulations and official communications carefully, and communicate questions or concerns clearly and in a timely manner. Faculty members, in turn, provide clear and timely responses.

    Respecting Rules and Academic Integrity
    Students are expected to comply with applicable laws, university regulations, ethical principles, and the standards of conduct that support a professional and inclusive learning environment within the programme.

    Communicating with Respect
    Students are expected to treat all members of the University community with respect, honesty, and tolerance. Courteous and professional communication—both in person and in written correspondence, including emails—is expected from students and faculty alike.

    Classroom Etiquette
    Students are expected to observe appropriate classroom etiquette. Eating, making phone calls, browsing the internet for non-course-related purposes, creating unnecessary disturbances, and making audio or video recordings during class are not permitted.

    Audio and video recordings may infringe the intellectual property rights of lecturers as well as the privacy and personality rights of everyone present. They are therefore only permitted with the explicit consent of all persons concerned.
