International Management Asia-Europe
Our fully English-taught, three-semester program—or four semesters with the optional double-degree track—develops advanced knowledge and analytical skills for business at the Asia–Europe interface. With a focus on the complexity and risks of international business, the interdisciplinary curriculum covers economic, political, legal, and cultural dimensions, preparing graduates for leadership roles in internationally operating organizations.
Program Structure
The International Management Asia-Europe (MIM) master's program is a fully English-taught program. It consists of two on-campus semesters (Semesters A and B), followed by a research semester (Semester C), during which students complete their master's thesis.
The two on-campus semesters provide advanced coursework in business and economics, regional studies, and legal studies. The modules combine subject-specific knowledge with methodological skills while fostering social and intercultural competencies. All components are designed to prepare students to manage complexity and risk in international companies and organizations operating in Asia.
The curriculum in Semesters A and B is organized into study modules covering the following areas: Principles and Methodology of Complexity Management, Managing International Complexity, Economic Integration between Asia and Europe, Intercultural Management in Asian and European Settings and Asia in Transition.

In addition, students choose elective modules from a university-wide course catalog, including courses offered by other master's programs at HTWG Konstanz. Each year, the program also offers the Industrial Session as an elective. This study trip takes a group of students to a region in East, South, or Southeast Asia, providing first-hand insights into international economic cooperation through visits to companies, universities, and international as well as local organizations.
The program is based on a competency-based framework that follows the progression from Theory to Management, Leadership, and Application, ensuring that students develop the analytical, managerial, and practical skills required for successful international careers.
