The world at our doorstep
This year, many of our international students took part in the International Day on June 10, 2026, sharing typical food, drinks, and activities from their home countries.
Visitors enjoyed delicious specialties from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines the Czech Republic, the United States, New Zealand, Brazil, mexiko, Peru, South Korea, Turkey, Bangladesh and Egypt. The students did a fantastic job introducing us to their countries' cuisines, cultures and warm hospitality.
Our South Korean students translated visitors' names into Korean and created beautiful name tags decorated with traditional knots - maedeup (매듭). A student from Auckland, New Zealand, organized a fun gumboot-throwing competition and Kiwi-slang quiz, while a group of South American students challenged visitors with an engaging Bingo game.
In addition, a group from the Sustainable Engineering and Future Technology study programme participated as part of a project, inviting visitors to test their knowledge of how different countries approach sustainability.
The International Day was a delicious, engaging, and entertaining event that brought the world right to our doorstep.
