Intercultural Trainings
The HTWG Konstanz is an international university of applied sciences with a high number of international full-time students, exchange students, and students of various ethnic backgrounds who completed their secondary education at German high schools. There are also a number of HTWG faculty and staff members from different countries around the world.
This means that the HTWG staff regularly experiences intercultural situations with both students and colleagues – making the need for intercultural knowledge and skills essential for day to day work
To meet this need, the IKZ also offers intercultural training for HTWG Konstanz faculty and staff, including:
Intercultural Workshops
These workshops, taught either by the IKZ or external trainers, offers insights on various intercultural issues.
The recent workshop series “Building Pilina (Relationships) Across Cultures in Online Environments” was a collaboration between the HTWG Konstanz (IKZ and HAW.Int team) and the University of Hawaii (USA) that focused on cultural aspects and tools used in online and hybrid teaching.
Intercultural Coaching
We also offer one-on-coaching (both in-person and online) to discuss intercultural situations or experiences in a more confidential setting.
