You have the following options:

1 Preparatory College (Studienkolleg) Courses at Hochschule Konstanz

(for Universities of Applied Sciences) 

We offer the following courses in Konstanz:

• T course: Preparation for technical and engineering degree programmes
• W course: Preparation for business and social science degree programmes

Admission: Entrance Test Konstanz. You will receive an invitation to the Entrance Test after the recognition of your certificates.

With the final exam (Feststellungsprüfung) at the end of the courses, you can apply to Universities of Applied Sciences in Baden-Württemberg. The language of instruction is German. At the beginning of the course, German language skills at level B1 are required.

2 Preparatory College (Studienkolleg) Courses in Bad Mergentheim
 

(for the Duale Hochschulen, DHBW) 

The following course is offered at the Bad Mergentheim location:

• T course: Preparation for technical and engineering degree programmes

Admission: Entrance Test Konstanz. You will receive an invitation to the Entrance Test after the recognition of your certificates.

The course only starts in the winter semester – the entrance test takes place in June. In this course, you are specifically prepared for studies at a Duale Hochschule, but with the qualification you can also study at other universities.

3 Study on a trial basis (Probestudium)

At some universities in Baden-Württemberg, there are study programmes that you can attend without attending a Studienkolleg. You can find information about this on the websites of the respective universities.

Study an a trial basis at the Hochschule Konstanz – degree programmes in English (further information):

• B.A. Sustainable Engineering & Future Technologies (SET) – degree programme combining mechanical engineering and electrical engineering. You must take an entrance examination and provide an English language certificate.

   

Study on a trial basis at the Catholic University of Applied Sciences Freiburg – degree programmes in German (further information):

• B.A. Applied Nursing Science
• B.A. Applied Theology
• B.A. Vocational Education in Healthcare
• B.A. Management in Healthcare
• B.A. Social Work Plus

Tution Fees

There are no tuition fees during the Foundation Year Programme. You only pay an administrative fee of EUR 192.50 per semester.

If you study at a University of Applied Sciences in Baden-Württemberg after completing the Studienkolleg, you will need to pay tuition fees of EUR 1,500 per semester . Students from Germany and EU countries as well as refugees are exempt.
