International Management Asia-Europe

The International Management Asia-Europe program, emphasizing the issues of complexity and risk, can be completed in three semesters - or add a fourth one and obtain an optional double degree.

    Qualification Goals

The qualification targets of the program in International Management Asia-Europe (MIM) are based on the following three pillars: business, culture/regional studies as well as language (on a voluntary basis). This is part of the generalist and interdisciplinary management approach taken in the HTWG Konstanz Asia Cluster degree programs:
Management skills are viewed as the ability to connect concrete business knowledge with thorough intercultural/regional knowledge and the communication skills needed for working in an international context.

Thus, students in the MIM master’s program build on their previous studies by gaining both practical and theory-guided skills that make them attractive candidates for employers. The program’s scientific perspective is presented in methodology courses as well as through our multidisciplinary approach that incorporates complexity and risk management. Regional knowledge and skills are acquired in courses focusing on the interface and interconnections between Asia and Europe, as well as through regular trips to Asian countries or a voluntary semester abroad at one of our Asian partner universities.

    The Double Degree Option

With its Double Degree option, MIM International Management Asia-Europe is one of the trailblazers at the HTWG. Current students in the program can apply during the winter term to spend an academic year abroad at the Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology (STUST). Students who successfully complete their studies at STUST and submit a master’s thesis after their return to Konstanz will receive a degree from both universities.

The STUST program is available for five students per academic year based on our agreement with STUST. Our program, part of the UAS.international project at the HTWG Konstanz (funded by the German Academic Exchange Service/DAAD), is currently in negotiations with other partner universities – for example in India, Indonesia, and Malaysia – to set up additional opportunities for students to acquire a double degree.
