Application deadlines for bachelor’s programs (German local time)
July 15 for the winter semester (September 1 – February 28/29), applications accepted from May
January 15 for the summer semester (March 1 – August 31), applications accepted from around the end of October
Please Note:
For the bachelor’s degree programs described here, you need to use two portals:
Create a user account on Hochschulstart:
Once activation is complete, you will be assigned two numbers:
You will need these two numbers later to register and apply on the HTWG Konstanz Campus Portal.
Keep your BID and BAN in a safe place.
To apply to the HTWG Konstanz, you must also register on the Campus Portal.
You can submit up to three bachelor’s applications for different degree programs at the HTWG Konstanz at the same time.
You need to upload your documents for each application.
If you have already submitted more than three applications, but wish to apply to another program, first withdraw one of the existing applications in the Campus Portal before submitting another application..
For each application, you need to upload certain supporting materials and documents, such as:
Please Note:
Tip: Keep your login details safe:
On the Campus Portal, you can:
If the status of your application changes, you will automatically receive an email, provided you did not disable these notifications during registration.
The Campus Portal shows you which documents are still missing or need to be submitted.
If a missing document is blocking your admission, upload or submit it by the application deadline so that your application remains valid.
As long as your application has the status “received online”, you can “withdraw and edit” it to change your information or upload additional documents later.
If your application already has the status “in progress” or “valid,” you can no longer make changes to the documents yourself in the portal.
In that case, please send the supporting documents:
You can view all applications we have received on the HTWG Konstanz Campus Portal.
The Hochschulstart portal gives you a combined overview of all applications you have submitted via Hochschulstart, including those to other universities in Germany.
If you have submitted multiple valid applications through Hochschulstart, you must rank them by priority:
Please Note:
If multiple applications are active, offers of admission with a lower priority may drop out of the procedure if you keep higher-priority offers in the procedure. That is why a careful ranking is very important.
If you receive an offer of admission from us, the following applies:
For privacy reasons, we cannot provide information regarding the status of your application over the phone. Please use only Hochschulstart and the Campus Portal to check the status of your application.
If you wish to accept your admission at the HTWG Konstanz, you must enroll at the university.
Please note that the letter of admission includes a deadline for acceptance and enrollment.
To enrol at HTWG:
After you enroll, you will receive:
You can usually start using your personal user account three business days after you enroll at the university, but no sooner than five business days after the start of the semester (which usually begins on September 1 or March 1).
Once you have enrolled, you can collect your HTWG Konstanz student ID card ("ZACK") from the campus.
After enrollment, you can print your written confirmation of enrollment from the HTWG Konstanz Campus Portal.
