    International Managing Asia-Europe

On our English-taught Master’s programme, you will acquire in-depth expertise in doing business at the Asia-Europe interface over the course of three semesters – or four if you choose the international double-degree option. What sets our programme apart is its focus on the complexities and risks associated with international business relations.

    Studying Abroad

Students in our Master’s program have numerous opportunities to gain international experience as part of their studies.

    1. Double Degree Option
In cooperation with the Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology (STUST) in Taiwan, students have the opportunity to earn a double degree from both HTWG and STUST.

    2. Asian Campus Courses
Students who do not want to spend a full year abroad can alternatively complete an exchange semester at one of our many partner universities in Asia. During their stay, they can take selected courses that can be (partially) credited towards their degree.

    3. Industrial Sessions
Students can also gain valuable international experience through the elective course “Industrial Sessions,” which includes an extensive international study trip each year to one or more countries in East, South, or Southeast Asia.

    Double Degree-Option

The double degree option of the MIM International Management Asia-Europe program is one of HTWG’s flagship international opportunities. It offers outstanding students the unique chance to broaden their academic and cultural perspectives within an Asian-European context.

Selected students may apply during the winter semester to spend one academic year at Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology (STUST) in Tainan, Taiwan. This immersive experience enables students to gain first-hand academic and intercultural insights in a dynamic international environment.

Upon successful completion of their studies at STUST and submission of their Master’s thesis after returning to Konstanz, students are awarded degrees from both institutions. This dual qualification significantly enhances their academic profile and strengthens their career prospects in the global job market.

The STUST double degree track is available to a select group of up to five students per academic year under the current agreement with STUST. As part of the HTWG Konstanz UAS.international project (funded by the German Academic Exchange Service – DAAD), the program continues to expand its international network. Discussions are currently underway with additional partner universities in India, Indonesia, and Malaysia to establish further double degree opportunities for future cohorts.

    Asian Campus Courses

During a voluntary exchange semester abroad at one of our many partner universities in Asia, students have the opportunity to earn credits that can be (partially) transferred towards their degree. Moreover, they can gain valuable international experience, further develop their language skills, deepen their knowledge of specific subjects and topics, and gain inspiration for their Master’s thesis.

We have numerous partner universities across Asia, offering students a wide range of opportunities to broaden their academic and cultural horizons.
Thanks to our cooperation agreements with our partner universities, students accepted at these universities do not have to pay tuition fees at the host institution.

Moreover, MIM students can apply for an Erasmus+ funded exchange semester at the University of Burgundy in Dijon, France.

'Information about application process for exchange semester at these universities is available from the HTWG International Office.

In addition, students have the opportunity to participate in a voluntary language semester arranged by us, focusing on Chinese or Vietnamese, at one of the following partner universities in China, Indonesia, or Taiwan:

    China:

    Vietnam:

    • University of Languages and International Studies, Hanoi

Almost all of these partner universities offer a limited number of tuition-free study places.

    Industrial Sessions

The elective course “Industrial Sessions” is an annual study trip as part of the Master’s program and alternates between China, India, and countries in Southeast Asia. A particular highlight of the Asia study trip is that students not only visit renowned industrial companies and universities, but also gain exclusive insights into international production and management processes. The focus is on direct interaction with business representatives on site, as well as cultural experiences that complement academic learning with practical perspectives.

Most recently, the study trip took students to Japan, with visits to, among others, Fuso-Mitsubishi, Musashino University, Doshisha University, and Kyoto University.
